ANIMATION

This article starts out by giving all the common reasons many teachers do not use Multimedia and Animation in their everyday curriculum. It then leads into the pros of using multimedia, especially in the middle school. Animation works well for some of those with learning disabilities. The paper also states how difficult it is to grasp exactly how the heart works or even how the moon revolved around the Earth simply by reading text.

I think animation is important to have in the classroom if a computer or needed materials are available. I think this not only grasps the attention of the students, but I think it helps them retain the information a lot better and a lot longer.

I found your article to be interesting. I agree with your response to the article. I believe animation can help make difficult content easier to understand, particularly if the subject matter is dynamic. I also believe animations are used to accomplish an affective function such as attracting student’s attention, engaging them and maintaining their motivation. Some animations are often funny or crazy but have little to do with making subjects easier to learn. However, there are also animations that accomplish a cognitive function, in which support them to truly understand the subject matter.

I agree with the idea that students will grasp and recall information better through animation than many other way.
