The article I read was just explaining why blogs are good to have put on the curriculum. In the article it gives an example of a Math class that has incorporated blogs into their classwork. It also explains that blogs "give students a motivation to read ahead in their textbooks, providing another means of communication between students and the professor, and creating a space for students to write about mathematics." The article goes on the have an example of the actual blog which took place between the teacher and student.

I think blogging would be a wonderful thing to implement in the teaching system. Clearly it is working well with all us blogging back and forth. I do think that blogging might stray away from the classroom setting a bit but it is a definitely as the artcle states a great way for teachers and students to communicate.

Heyy! I agree with you when you say that blogs are working well for us, but I do however think younger students wouldnt be as successful with blogs as we are. I think students would get side tracked if they were always instructed to be on the computer, and I also think some parents would have a problem with their students being on public websites such as blogs.
Hey Jenn, I think that your article provided a lot of information about how blogging can be incorporated in the classroom. By using the math classroom as an example, I think that it is a great thing for middle school and high school students. I agree with you about how it could be a distraction in the classroom because if the student only focus on blogging, they might lose focus on the actual assignment or task at hand.
I agree with your post. I think that in today's society kids are becoming more and more dependent on technology. I think that this can be both a positive and a negative. I believe that blogging will help kids in the writing skills. If they know that their material is going to be posted for lots of people to see, they will make sure to go through their material and make as few mistakes as possible; however, I also think that blogging takes away from kids learning how to write. If all students have to do is type, that takes away from learning how to write in cursive and how to sign their names, things of that nature.
I never thought of using a blog for a math class. I think that could be a great way to get students who are not interested in math involved. It also can allow students to help eachother when they have problems. What a great idea! I wish that my math class had a blog like that!
Hello Jenn
I agree that blogs are a great way to motivate students to read and write. I think that young students could also benefit from blogging if they were given a certain time limit to write, which would encourage them to work on their typing skills. All in all, blogging is a great way to incorporate technology into learning, as long it is done safely.
I believe blogging is great for older students such as highschool and college students. Blogging may not be as useful for younger children. although I think Blogging is a good idea, I don't think the whole class should revolve around blogging.
Hey, I really enjoyed the fact that your article gave a specific example of a blog between a student and a teacher. It also gave great detail on how blogs today are being used in the classroom. I personally agree with you that blogging will take from the classroom environment. Therefore, I think blogging could cause some forms of distractions and could have some negative aspects.
